Brassylic acid (Tridecanedioic acid, DC13)
BRASSYLIC ACID
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Brassylic acid is a long-chain dicarboxylic acid that is available as a white, highlypure powder. Brassylic acid can be used for the production of plastics by subjecting it to reductive amination. The resulting diamine can then be polymerized with equal amounts of brassylic acid to form nylon 13,13. Ethylene brassylate, an ethylene glycol diester of brassylic acid, is also used in the food and cosmetics industry. This macrocyclic compound has a sweet musky scent. Brassylic acid is also used in the production of hot-melt adhesives.
