Vitamin D2 in Oil as a food supplement
Vitamin D2 in Oil - Food
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Vitamin D2, also known as ergocalciferol, is one of the two main forms of vitamin D. It is a fat-soluble vitamin that plays a crucial role in maintaining calcium and phosphorus balance in the body. It is often used as a dietary supplement and can also be obtained from fortified foods such as certain dairy products, cereals and orange juice. Vitamin D2 is vegan. After ingestion or synthesis in the skin, vitamin D2 undergoes a series of transformations in the liver and kidneys to arrive at its active form, calcitriol. Calcitriol acts like a hormone and regulates the absorption of calcium and phosphorus from the intestine as well as their storage and mobilization in the bones. Vitamin D2 is also important for the maintenance of general health, especially bone health, immune function and muscle strength.
