PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
BIOCATALYST CAL B ist ein rekombinantes hergestelltes Enzym der Candida Antarctica Lipase, welches in der Hefe Pichia pastoris exprimiert wird. CAL B ist ein äußerst vielseitiger und weit verbreiteter Biokatalysator, der in verschiedenen Branchen wie der Lebensmittel-, Pharma- und Chemieindustrie eingesetzt wird. Es weist eine hohe Substratspezifität sowie eine hohe Regio- und Enantioselektivität auf. CAL B wird vielseitig in der (dynamisch)-kinetischen Racematspaltung zur Synthese von chiralen Verbindungen genutzt. Der Produkttyp BIOCATALYST CAL B 10 L wird als mit Puffer und zugelassenen Konservierungsmitteln formuliertes Enzymkonzentrat geliefert. Die Beschaffenheit von CAL B 10 L ist eine gelb-grüne bis grüne Flüssigkeit. Die Enzymaktivität beträgt mindestens 10’000 TBU/mL (Tributyrin Hydrolyse).

Enzymatic resolution of racemates:
Due to its high enantioselectivity, CAL B can be used in kinetic or dynamic kinetic resolution of racemates, where it selectively catalyzes the reaction of an enantiomer and thus enables the separation of chiral compounds. Typical reactions are esterification, transesterification, hydrolysis and amidation.
Pharmaceutical synthesis:
CAL B is used in pharmaceutical synthesis to produce chiral compounds with high enantioselectivity. It enables the efficient synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) with specific stereospecificity.
Production of flavors and fragrances:
CAL B can be used in the synthesis of esters that contribute to the flavors and fragrances of various products, including food, beverages and cosmetics.
Production of specialty chemicals:
CAL B is used in the synthesis of specialty chemicals, including fine chemicals and intermediates used in various industrial processes.
Production of omega-3 fatty acids:
CAL B can be used in the production of omega-3 fatty acids in the esterification of free omega-3 acids or in transesterification reactions.
Biodiesel production:
CAL B can usually be used as a catalyst in the production of biodiesel. It facilitates the transesterification reaction in which vegetable oils or animal fats are converted into fatty acid methyl ester (biodiesel) and glycerol.

Store in a cool and dry place. The recommended storage temperature is below 10 °C. If the product is stored under these conditions, the specified activity is given for at least 12 months.
