PART OF A WHOLE – THE DNA OF CORVAY SPECIALTY CHEMICALS.

As part of the Corvay Group, Corvay Specialty Chemicals is responsible for trading in bio-based and biotechnologically produced fine chemicals and products. Our project managers can draw on the expertise of colleagues in the areas of consulting and process development.

Corvay’s motto “Bioeconomy is our passion!” also applies to Corvay Specialty Chemicals. The DNA of the company is the international experience of almost 40 years of bioeconomy in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, in corporate management, marketing and sales as well as in the development of companies and markets. Corvay Specialty Chemicals specializes in bioengineered chemical products, bio-based plastics, specialty enzymes for chemical synthesis and vitamins for food and feed applications.

In 2002, Albrecht Läufer founded the company BioRegioN GmbH together with Herbert Stadler and the associations VCI-Nord and UVN (then: Unternehmerverbände Niedersachsen). The purpose of the company was to manage the BioRegioN cluster on behalf of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Federal State of Lower Saxony. By 2010, hundreds of networking events had been successfully held and almost 100 company start-ups had been actively supported.

From 2006, the company became increasingly active as a consultant to biotech companies, from 2008 under the name Corvay GmbH, from 2022 Corvay Consult. Companies from the biopharmaceutical and vaccine sector(Rhein-Biotech, now Dynavax Europe) were among the mandates, as were companies from the industrial bioeconomy(Direvo, ThyssenKruppUhde).

In addition to the founding of Corvay Specialty Chemicals, other start-ups included Vakzine Projekt Management GmbH (founded in 2002, sold in 2018), the BluCon Biotech GmbH (founded in Cologne in 2017), 2018 the Corvay Bioproducts GmbHwhich now operates under the brand BioMera and last but not least, in 2023, together with four partners, the SEF Venture Management GmbHwhich has started fundraising for the Sustainable Economy Fund No.1.

In addition, Corvay Consult is also committed to the interests of the bioeconomy at association level,as a memberof BIO Deutschland and its “Industrial Bioeconomy” working group. The good handling of labor and social law for small and medium-sized companies that are independent of collective bargaining agreements is also a priority – through many years of involvement (since 2003) on the board of the ANA, the General North German Employers’ Association. If required, our project managers can draw on the expertise of specialists from the Corvay Group and competent consulting partners.
